New details have emerged from the serious event that took place this afternoon in the city of Korça.

According to the information from the police, it is known that a citizen who is in the process of divorcing his wife has doused her with gasoline.

Bledar Trëndafili went to the apartment where his wife, Melisa Trëndafili, lives and committed the serious act.

Currently, the woman is receiving medical care at the regional hospital of Korça, whose condition is not yet known, while the police are looking for the perpetrator, who has left the scene.

Police notification:

"Around 16:30, in neighborhood no. 2, Korçë, on the street, citizen BT, 45 years old, tried to burn his wife (in the process of divorce and currently living apart), citizen MT, 31 years old, with gasoline. The citizen BT, after throwing fuel on the body of the citizen MT and lighting it, quickly left.

 

As a result, the MT citizen suffered burns on her body and was immediately sent to the hospital for medical assistance. The Police Services have been in pursuit of the 45-year-old. The investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office is at the scene and is working to clarify the circumstances and the legal documentation of the case." – informs the police.
