 The Border Police Services, while monitoring the coastal area, found a sailing vessel making uncontrolled movements, which then got stuck in the sand a few meters away from the shore, in the territory of the village of Karpen.


After the preliminary inspection, the services of the Spille Border Police Station have carried out a detailed check on board the vessel.

During the control in the boathouse, 1 "Walther" type pistol firearm, 1 pistol comb, military ammunition, 2 mobile phones, 1 laptop and the documents of the boat were found and seized, the police announced.

"Also, a German passport with the generals FR, 85 years old, was found in the vessel.

From the verifications carried out in cooperation with the Guardia di Finanza in advance, it appears that the vessel left from Bari, Italy, towards Croatia, initially with normal sailing and then with erratic movements.

The investigative group set up for this case is cooperating with Interpol Tirana, for the verification of the passport data that was found in the boat, in order to clarify the circumstances of this case and determine the location of the holder of the passport, who is suspected to be the driver. of the vessel.

"From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that the driver of the boat may have fallen into the sea, due to high waves caused by bad weather ," the police announced. 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further actions.
