He asked for release! The hearing against Dritan Dajti fails

The court session against Dritan Dajti in Elbasan has failed.

The author of the murder of 4 policemen requested to be escorted to the Court, but his request was not accepted for security reasons.

The video conference session failed because the technical conditions were missing.

On July 5, Dritan Dajti asked the director of Peqin prison to carry out the release procedures, as he says that on July 4, 2024, the execution of the sentence of 25 years in prison has been completed.

Meanwhile, in his request, Dajti does not mention the decision of the Supreme Court taken a few days ago that overturned the decision of the Appeal that sentenced him to 25 years in prison and returned his sentence to life in prison.

He is guilty of killing officers Kastriot Feskaj, Altin Dizdari, Sajmir Duçkollari and Fatos Xhani, an event recorded on August 7, 2009, in Durrës, during an operation to arrest him.

Dritan Dajti, who is currently serving his sentence in the high security prison of Peqin, has requested the declaration of the end of the execution of the sentence of 25 years imprisonment.

From the content of the letter "Dynamics of serving the sentence for the convict" it results that from the date of his arrest, 07.08.2009, until 30.04.2024, the convict has served a total of 24 (twenty-four) years, 8 (eight) month and 13 (thirteen) days', says the request for release from the cell.

Also, Dritan Dajti and the young lawyer Alban Kapxhiu, have made a request on July 4, 2024 to the director of the prison of Peqin to issue an order to carry out the release procedure.

But as it turns out in fact, although Dritan Dajti has completed the execution of the sentence of 25 years imprisonment, the Director of IEVPPeqin, Mr. Florenc Doka has not yet issued the written order for the staff of the institution to carry out the actions for his release', the letter states.

But the decision of the Court of Appeal for the 25-year prison sentence of Dritan Dajti was overturned by the Supreme Court, which reinstated him in prison for life with a decision dated June 11.
