The first soloist of the Albanian ballet, Ganimete Vendresha, has passed away at the age of 88. She was one of the most prominent names of ballet in our country,
After finishing the Jordan Misja art school in Tirana, Vendresha went to study ballet in Moscow. She returned to Tirana in August 1956 and was engaged as a soloist at the Opera and Ballet Theatre. Until 1981, she was the first soloist of this stage, she danced in all premieres prepared by the Theater team.
Vendresha has over 140 roles in ballet performances. She was one of the founders of the Choreographic School in Tirana (artistic secondary school), established in 1957. A reaction to her loss has also come from her granddaughter, Ajola Xoxa.
