Anti-drug operation in Germany, 280 kg of cocaine seized, 6 people arrested,

German authorities have carried out a successful anti-drug operation, seizing 280 kilograms of cocaine, which was being trafficked by a South American cargo ship. The drugs were seized after a raid at the port of Brake, in the Wesermarsch district, while 6 people, including Albanians, were arrested during the operation.

The operation also included the arrest of three divers suspected of attempting to recover cocaine near the port of Brake, a key part of the drug transport network in the European Union. Several individuals were also arrested following house searches on suspicion of illegally importing drugs into Germany.

The arrested, aged 38 to 65, include Romanians, Albanians and Colombians. Preliminary investigations by German authorities had confirmed that the drugs were loaded onto a transport ship from South America and were destined for the port of Brake in Germany.

Following a coordinated operation by the special forces of the Saxony State Criminal Police and the Central Criminal Police Office in Oldenburg, three divers entered the water on the night of March 3, 2025 to seize the narcotics. Following the seizure of the drugs, 6 people were arrested, while the investigation is ongoing. The suspects have been brought before the court, and four of them have already been arrested. The investigation is being continued by the Oldenburg Public Prosecutor's Office.
