Deterioration of the weather, navigation is prohibited for small vessels in

Navigation for small fishing vessels is suspended due to forecasts for worsening weather conditions in the next three days.

The General Maritime Directorate announces that the decision has been taken to prohibit the provision of permits for small fishing vessels from midday on Wednesday to Saturday afternoon, in order to avoid any unexpected situation due to atmospheric conditions .

"Based on the forecast for the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation inside and outside the Vlora bay, during the dates 20-23.11.2024 starting from 12:00 on 20.11.2024 in the direction SOUTH-SOUTH-WEST and NORTH-NORTH-WEST, in force up to 6-7bft with wind speed up to 15-20m/s and wave height from 1.50 to 2.00 meters.
In order to prevent any unexpected situation due to atmospheric conditions, we ask for the cooperation of all subjects that exercise activity in the maritime field, to take all the necessary measures for securing the means in the port and increase of the readiness of the crew in the vessels
1. THE EQUIPMENT WITH PERMISSION OF THE SMALL NAVIGATION VEHICLES IS PROHIBITED . FISHERIES WHICH OPERATE IN THE OPEN SEA STARTING AT 12:00 DATE 20.11.2024.
2. International maritime transport vessels will continue to operate normally according to the respective destinations.
3. Improvement of the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation for small vessels and fishing will be after 18:00 on the date 23.11.2024" , the announcement states.
