 Belgian and French tourists fell into the abyss and lost their lives in Valbona
Two foreign tourists were found dead in Valbona. 
According to the police, it is suspected that they fell due to the steep terrain and fell down the slope while exploring in the place called 'Valbona Neck'.  
Due to the very difficult terrain and bad weather, the Police officers who are at the scene, but find it impossible to pull the bodies out of the abyss. 


Police announcement:  
After the announcement that two foreign tourists, exploring the area of ​​Valbona, had fallen due to the steep terrain and had fallen down the slope, the services of the Tropoja Police Station, those of the Local Directorate and the Border Police, together with the medical team, immediately headed towards the place where the two tourists had fallen. 

  
Despite the very difficult terrain and bad weather with fog and snow, the Police services, after many searches, have made it possible to find the dead bodies of two tourists, the Belgian citizen BM and French citizen JB    


The alpine team of FNSh Shkodër immediately started to help the police services, since due to the very difficult terrain and bad weather, the police officers who are at the scene, find it impossible to get the bodies out of the abyss. Because of the bad weather, even the helicopter could not land in the place where the tourists were found dead. 
In order to enable the removal of dead bodies, the local and border police services, as well as the alpine squad, are cooperating with Civil Emergencies and the Ministry of Defense.  


The investigative group of the Kukës Local Police Directorate is at the scene and under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to clarify the circumstances of this event and to determine the cause of the loss of life of the two tourists.
