Global Finance ranking: Kosovo, the poorest in the region, followed by Albania

The magazine 'Global Finance' has published the ranking of the countries from the richest to the poorest in the world for 2022. From the data, it appears that Kosovo and Albania are ranked as the poorest countries in the region.

The figures that refer to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the publication "World Economic Outlook, April 2022", show that Kosovo is the poorest country in the region, ranking 105th in the world, with 13,964 dollars in income per inhabitant.

After Kosovo, Albania comes 90th among 192 countries of the world with 17,383 dollars per capita. Then comes Serbia in 72nd place and North Macedonia ranked 78th. Whereas Bosnia and Herzegovina is in 88th place with 17,471 dollars per capita.

The richest country in the world according to the ranking is Luxembourg with a GDP per capita based on purchasing power of up to $140,694. Luxembourg is followed by Singapore, followed by Ireland and Qatar.

The countries with the largest GDP are also the United States, China, Japan, Germany. At the bottom of the list are countries such as: Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria, the Republic of Congo and other African countries.
