Does the price of bread increase by 20 Lek? Economy expert: What happens from

From November 1, the decision of the Energy Regulatory Entity (ERE) to increase the price of electricity in peak hours for bakeries and pastry shops comes into force.

Prices will increase by 15% for all categories, depending on the type of bakery activity. This increase will be applied in the winter period from 18:00-22:00 and in the spring-summer period from 19:00-23:00. For the first category, which includes only bakeries, the price will increase from 7.6 Lek to 8.74 Lek/kg.

This increase in the price of electricity is expected to affect the increase in the price of bread. Invited to 'Vizion Plus', economic expert Romina Radonshiqi gave her solution for this situation in order not to increase the price of bread.

"We know very well that bakeries actually have cost increases. The salaries of the employees are high. But it's a problem with all traders, that as soon as a decision comes out they tend to raise prices. Even before November came, there was a communication that there will be an increase in the price of bread. This increase will be 15-20 ALL. Which is actually a lot for a basket product. So with a simple calculation, all indexation of pensions goes to bread. As long as it is time bound, then the bakeries have it solved. They should not produce at that hour and thus the cost does not increase and therefore the price of bread does not increase either", says Radonshiqi.

According to the economy expert, living costs in Albania are the same as in EU countries, while salaries in our country are low. According to the expert, the average salary should be 100,000 new lek, which families should have to live a normal life.
