Renowned director Piro Milkani dies at the age of 86

Prominent Albanian director, Piro Milkani, has passed away at the age of 86.

The news was announced by his son, Eno Mikani, through social networks, where he wrote: "My father, friend and colleague is gone."

Piro Milkani was one of the most important figures in Albanian cinema, with a long career and extraordinary contribution to the art of directing. He will be remembered as a beloved and respected personality not only for his talent, but also for his love and dedication to art and family.

Piro Milkani was born in Korça on December 9, 1939. After finishing high school in his hometown, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Czechoslovakia, where he graduated as a cinematographer. During his years of study, he made his graduation film, Ingratitude, which marked the beginning of a successful career in cinematography.
