Tragedy in Kocani/ Four injured in critical condition
The grave tragedy in Kočani, North Macedonia, continues to shock public opinion, while the death toll and injuries remain tragic. After the devastating fire that broke out at the Pulse nightclub on March 16, which killed 59 people and injured around 200 others, authorities have intensified investigations into the incident.

Health Minister Arben Taravari has stated that four of the 115 patients being treated abroad are in critical condition. Meanwhile, 55 other patients being treated in domestic hospitals are reported to be in stable condition.

Responding to media questions, Minister Taravari emphasized that his priority is caring for the injured and ruled out any possibility of resigning.

From the investigations conducted so far, 34 people have been identified as suspects in the tragedy, of whom 24 have been placed in custody. Among those arrested are three leaders of the Kocani Municipality: the outgoing mayor Ljupco Papazov, former mayors Ratko Dimitrovski and Nikolco Iliev, and former Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi.

Authorities have warned that inspections will be expanded to all public facilities in the country to ensure the safety of citizens.

Meanwhile, the Government of North Macedonia has started distributing aid packages to the families of the victims and has stated that it will cover all costs for the treatment of the injured abroad. This was announced by the Government Spokesperson, Venera Latifi Azizi, who stressed the importance of support for all those affected by this tragedy.

The serious incident occurred during a concert where over 500 participants were present at the Pulse nightclub. The fire quickly broke out after the use of pyrotechnics, causing real chaos that resulted in heavy casualties.
