Kurti responds to Grenell: Relations with the US are better than ever

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has reacted to the statements of the American envoy, Richard Grenell, who described Kurti as an insecure politician and urged the citizens of Kosovo not to be deceived by his claims about excellent relations with the US.

Kurti, in an interview with the local television "Istogu Chanel", emphasized that relations with the US are stronger than ever and that criticism is natural, but we must move forward.

He stressed that during his government, Kosovo has managed to make great progress, including the purchase of Black Hawk helicopters and receiving the largest grant from the US. Kurti added that his government has advanced relations with the US in various areas, including security and energy, stressing that Kosovo has never had better relations with the United States.

" You know very well, I have been an activist all my life, but not an analyst. Those who do analysis are in television studios, who say, 'Look, I saw it, I watched it...' We have never had it better. We are also buying Black Hawk helicopters after the Javelin anti-tank system, we received the largest grant from the US during my government, " Kurti said.

On the other hand, Richard Grenell has criticized Kurti's government for unilateral actions that, according to him, have destabilized the region. He stressed that the Trump administration has been looking for reliable partners for peace in the Balkans and that Kurti has failed in this regard. According to Grenell, the International Community is united against Kurti, and because of him, American companies are facing difficulties in Kosovo, while they are expanding in Albania and Serbia.

Kurti, however, defended his position and insisted that it is important for Kosovo to continue moving forward, despite the criticism.
