Osmani: Serbia should be held accountable for its actions against Kosovo

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has asked the international community to hold Serbia accountable for its actions against Kosovo, "making it clear that it must stop financing, supporting and pushing criminal groups for terrorist actions".

Osmani, during a meeting with the ambassadors of the countries of QUINT and the European Union, talked about the security situation after the attack against the Kosovo Police in Banjska of Zveçan.

"The lack of such measures can be misused by Serbia and therefore we can have a repetition of terrorist actions", said Osmani, according to a press release.

Kosovo has blamed Serbia for the attack on September 24 in Banjska in Zveçan. Serbia has denied having a hand in the attack, which Kosovo considers terrorist and an act of aggression against it.

"Kosovo is determined to continue promoting peace and stability in the region, as well as to work with the local Serbian community to bring them closer and integrate them into the society and institutions of Kosovo," said Osmani.

QUINT countries include: the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and France.

On September 29, Millan Radoicic, who said he is resigning from Lista Serbe - the main party of Serbs in Kosovo that enjoys the support of Belgrade - admitted through his lawyer that he organized and participated in the attack in Banjska.

Earlier, the authorities in Kosovo have published evidence, such as a video recorded with a drone, where Radoiçiqi was seen armed and wearing a uniform in Banjska.

Kosovo, through a resolution approved in the Assembly, has called for an international investigation into Serbia regarding its role in this attack.

The attack on the Kosovo Police has been severely condemned by the United States and the European Union./REL
