"We can't have presidents with Zoom", Kurti tells how he rejected

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has shown how he opposed the request of the US emissary for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, that the mayors should not send them to the municipal facilities of the northern municipalities.

"We cannot have presidents with Zoom [online calling platform], we are a democratic republic. A democratic republic cannot surrender to the fascist militia" , stated Kurti in an interview for the prestigious British magazine 'The Guardian'.

Kurti also criticized the statement of the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, who said that the decision of the Government of Kosovo, to enter the municipal buildings in the north with force, was taken "against the advice" of the United States and European partners, and which "has unnecessarily escalated tensions".

"I think that, not only is it unfair and wrong and also hurtful, but at the same time it is very naive", said Kurti.

"Maybe Secretary Blinken will clarify this more one day, but it definitely hasn't been helpful," he added.
