Stano: What do Kosovo and Serbia risk if they do not implement the Ohrid

Kosovo and Serbia may risk their international reputation if they do not start to implement the points of the agreement from the Ohrid meeting.

This was stated by the Spokesman of the European Union, Peter Stano, who also added that the credibility of the parties is also at risk, therefore, according to him, in order to be seen as a reliable partner of the EU, they must implement what they have promised.

The international reputation and credibility of the parties is also at stake here – in order to be seen as a reliable partner of the EU, the parties must deliver on what they have promised. European leaders at their meeting in Brussels this Thursday called on Kosovo and Serbia to quickly and in good faith implement their respective obligations arising from the Ohrid meeting.

Both parties agreed in Ohrid to immediately start implementing all the provisions of the Agreement and the Annex. The agreed text clearly states: "Kosovo and Serbia are fully committed to respect all articles of the Agreement and this annex." The provisions of the Agreement (including the Annex) will now be incorporated into Chapter 35 for Serbia and the agenda of the Special Normalization Group for Kosovo. This means that parties will be contractually bound to implement the provisions if they wish to make progress towards the EU. Non-implementation means abandoning the path to the EU ", says Stano's answer to Teve1.

Also, Stano announced that during the following days, the EU Institutions will initiate the process for the operationalization of the first steps of the implementation phase together with both parties.
