Which is the only country in the world without mosquitoes

There is one country in the world that has no mosquitoes at all and that country is Iceland. The main reason for the lack of mosquitoes in the territory of this country is the Icelandic climate. During winter, the average temperature is usually 1-2 degrees Celsius, while in summer it rises to around 12 degrees Celsius. However, this is not the only reason. Other reasons why mosquitoes cannot acclimatize in Iceland are related to the reproductive phase and the water.

The reproduction of these insects always occurs in moist environments, where the water must be stagnant and where there are areas of shade and vegetation. Mosquitoes are one of the most annoying, tiring and stressful things in the summer, as they bite us and make us not sleep well above all. Of course, we should never forget that mosquitoes can also carry dangerous diseases such as malaria, Zika virus and fever.

While most of us turn to various creams or sprays to kill mosquitoes, these chemical agents are known to cause allergic reactions in many people and are simply harmful to others. Lemon juice is recommended by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a very good insect repellent. It is particularly effective against mosquitoes.

The reason is the active ingredient cineole, which has antiseptic and insect repellent properties when applied to the skin. The best thing is that this mixture does not have negative consequences like insect repellent chemicals.
