Rama's statements in Lezha, the Association of the Blind reacts: Apologize,

The Albanian Association of the Blind has reacted in harsh tones after the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama yesterday in Lezha, who said that " When a person has perfect eyesight, he is more blind than someone who does not have eyes. Whoever has eyes, will not see, is absolutely blind. Whoever has perfect ears, and will hear the owl's song at night, is more deaf than deaf."

The prosecution has called the prime minister's statements "a public insult to people with disabilities," and expresses deep indignation at Rama's use of discriminatory language.

The association calls on the prime minister to publicly apologize, to truly commit to respecting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, and to restore institutional dignity in communication with its citizens.
