Kopliku: The vote on May 11 for the DP-ASHM is the deserved punishment for Rama

The Democratic Party's candidate for MP in Shkodra, Ted Kopliku, has reacted to the prime minister's recent statements, accusing the latter of recycled propaganda and systematic failure to fulfill promises for the city of Shkodra.

In a statement to the media, Kopliku emphasized that the expression used by the Prime Minister towards political opponents, "irrecyclable waste", is an attempt to insult citizens who think differently, while in reality, "the most unrecyclable waste is this very way of governance that has recycled deceptions and unfulfilled promises for 12 years."

Statement of the candidate for deputy of the DP-ASHM in Shkodra, Ted Kopliku:

The outgoing Prime Minister uses the phrase 'unrecyclable waste' to label anyone who thinks differently. The truth is this: the most unrecyclable waste is precisely this way of governance that has recycled deceptions, broken promises, and propaganda for 12 years.

Shkodra does not need recycled promises. It needs new, honest leadership with concrete results.

The citizens of Shkodra are witnessing another wave of electoral promises overfulfilled by the socialist government. Rama's candidates and he himself talk about a Shkodra 2030 connected by highways and railways!

Talking to the people of Shkodran about the road when just the day before they traveled 4 hours to reach Tirana, to follow their beloved team, Vllaznia, is a cynical mockery!

But let's talk about the major projects of the Renaissance:

1. Adriatic-Ionian Highway - a project on paper and at a ridiculous pace.

The Thumanë–Kashar segment is not Shkodra. The segment that directly belongs to Shkodra-Murqian–Balldren has not started yet, it is still in the EU-funded project phase.

A bridge over the Buna River and an eastern bypass of Shkodra are promised, but citizens have been waiting for 10 years for the rehabilitation of the existing bridge. The eastern bypass was mentioned in 2017, without a single meter of construction to date.

2. The Vorë–Shkodër–Han i Hotit Railway - another illusion with a deadline after the elections

The project has been approved in principle by the EBRD since 2021, but construction has not yet begun in either Vora or Shkodra. The promise 'starts within the year' has been repeated for the third year in a row.

3. Shkodër–Gjakovë Railway - regional propaganda without construction date

There is no official agreement for the financing and construction of this project, just a 'ceremony' with videos and posts on social media.

4. Real balance: Shkodra neglected

Unemployment in Shkodra is among the highest in the country. Young people are leaving every day. No industrial park, no serious investment for export, no support for agriculture or tourism in the mountainous areas.

The large investments mentioned are neither in the 2025 budget nor in the National Investment Plan published by the government itself.

With the Democratic Party in power, Shkodra has benefited from 3 times more investments than under the SP government.

Shkodra under the Democratic Party had a budget of around 285 million euros: with investments in road infrastructure, educational and health institutions, agricultural infrastructure and embankments!

Meanwhile, in 12 years of governance by the Socialist Party, we have only 89 million euros of completed investments and around 37 million euros are being implemented, failing to complete the projects during this governing mandate.

The Democratic Party is a guarantee for the continuation of investments and the development of new projects in infrastructure and the energizing of the local economy, education, health and agriculture.

The people of Shkodran and Albanians will know the difference on May 11th!
