Italy: Mahmood & Blanco win Sanremo 2022 with "Brividi"

On Saturday night, Mahmood & Blanco won the grand finale of Sanremo 2022. And in the early hours of Sunday morning, the duo confirmed that they would also represent Italy at 'Eurovision 2022' with their song "Brividi".

Confirmation was made at the press conference of the winner of Sanremo. After being given the statue of Leoncino, the pair were taken to the Sanremo media center, where they confronted the media. Mahmood and Blanco confirmed that they were happy to also represent Italy at Eurovision 2022. The pair said it was doubly special to represent their country on their own soil.

The news was also confirmed by the broadcaster Rai on their official Twitter account at Eurovision.

However, the duo have not decided whether the song will be performed entirely in Italian, saying " We still have to think about it: what we are interested in right now is to bring our music abroad . " Blanco's preference is to keep the song in Italian. The decision will be confirmed at a later date.
