Is it really an Oscars ceremony if Lady Gaga isn't there?

The actress and global superstar made a surprise appearance (and performance) at the 95th Academy Awards last night. The Oscar winner was nominated once again in the best song category for her album "Hold My Hand" from last year's film "Top Gun: Maverick." It was not confirmed until the day of the ceremony that the singer would appear as she has been busy filming Todd Philipp's 'Joker' musical sequel Folie à Deux, alongside Joaquin Phoenix. Lady Gaga joined Best Song nominees including Rihanna, Sofia Carson and Diane Warren, Stephanie Hsu, David Byrne and Son Lux, and Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava for memorable performances throughout the night.

For her appearance on the champagne carpet, the superstar wore a new dress by Versace, with bold eye makeup and red lips. However, for the performance, Gaga stripped down - literally - removing all her make-up and opting for a simple black top, ripped jeans and a chair, and opted to perform an acoustic rendition of the song.

"There are heroes all around us in simple places," the singer said before launching into the song. "But you may find that you can be your own hero even if you feel broken inside." Her performance is being adored on social networks and fans are happy with this courage of the singer, appearing without a gim and a simple outfit in one of the most coveted scenes of Hollywood.
