Sia confesses to suffering from autism spectrum disorders

Sia has recently announced that she has been diagnosed with autism. The "Chandelier" singer revealed that she is on the autism spectrum during the May 25 episode of 'Rob Has a Podcast,' noting that her autism diagnosis came later in life.

"For 45 years, I've been thinking, 'I've got to go put on my 'human' costume." And it's only been in the last two years that I've become fully, completely myself."

Her diagnosis has allowed her to celebrate more parts of herself.

"Being in recovery and also knowing what neurological type you may or may not have, well, I think one of the biggest things is that no one can know and love you when you're filled with secrets and live in shame. And when we finally sit in a room full of strangers and tell them our deepest, darkest, most shameful secrets, and they all laugh along with us, and we don't feel like pieces of trash for the first time and we feel like we're being recognized for who we really are, then we can start going out into the world and just acting like people and human beings at heart and not pretending to be someone other."

The film received two Golden Globe Award nominations – for Best Picture in the Musical category and Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Kate Hudson – amid much controversy. She further celebrated the nominations on Instagram.

"This film is a love letter to everyone who has ever felt voiceless. What an incredible, moving and incredible experience. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew, and thank you to the foreign Hollywood press. What an honor!"
