High infection rates in Greece, over 3 thousand new cases, most affected by men

The new 'Delta' variant seems to be recording a high number of infections in Greece. In the last 24 hours alone, 3,273 new cases of Covid-19 were registered, 12 of which resulted after port controls.

Greek media report that new cases have been registered respectively: 709 cases in Attica, 336 in Crete, 318 in Thessaloniki, 115 in Achaia, 113 in Messinia and 100 in Rhodes.

Meanwhile, since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of infected people in Greece has reached 550,459 cases, of which 51.1% are men.

Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 128 are considered to be related to overseas travel and 1,409 are related to an already known case.
