The government lowers the average for some branches, is teaching affected

The government has approved today a decision, which has provided for the reduction of the average required for some of the bachelor cycle study programs.

Graduates who complete secondary education with a minimum grade point average of 6.5, will be able to apply for study programs of foreign languages, as well as for some other programs aimed at different professions, in addition to teaching.

This was announced by the Minister of Education, Evis Kushi, who clarified that in order to become a teacher, the average of 7.5 will continue to be required.

"In today's meeting of the council of ministers, we approved an amendment to the DCM, which determines the average grade they want to pursue higher studies in universities. Specifically, everyone knows that with the teaching reform in 2017, today all graduates who continue to be teachers must have a minimum average of 7.5

But meanwhile the concerns we have had from universities are related to the fact that these programs not all graduates who enroll want to become teachers. We all agree that teachers should be the best, we also agree with universities that the criterion for those who should become teachers should be 7.5 but in these programs can also enter those graduates who want to enter a profession another " , said Kushi.
