"The only aromatic plant for Rama is drugs", Berisha: We will strongly subsidize the medicinal plant sector

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a meeting with medicinal plant producers.

Berisha emphasized that Albania is one of the richest countries in biodiversity and medicinal plants with extraordinary commercial potential, but which, according to him, has been neglected by the state.

Berisha: Dear representatives of one of the most important sectors of what I would call natural Albania, the country's medicinal plant sector.

First, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to you and all the farmers, collectors, processors, and exporters of medicinal plants and essential oils in Albania.

I express my greatest appreciation for the work you do, the invaluable contribution you make to the economy of this country.

Albania is perhaps, per square kilometer, the richest country that can exist in its vegetation, in its biodiversity.

Albania has a great wealth of essential oils, medicinal and aromatic plants, which have an inexhaustible, guaranteed market and which have not had proper support from the state.

It has been ignored in one way or another.

In addition, this sector, which is an export sector, has suffered a very serious blow from the narco-euro in recent years.

Because you are an export sector and of course transactions are in dollars and euros.

The creation of the narco-euro, its devaluation by the euro of poisonous plants and drugs, has caused hundreds and hundreds of export enterprises to go bankrupt and tens of thousands of Albanians to lose their jobs.

In our project for Greater Albania, we consider the agricultural sector a sector of primary importance for the realization of this project.

And we are committed to a complete reversal of the current system, of this system's attitude towards agriculture, livestock, aromatic plants, etc.

We will double the budget for this sector and quadruple or quintuple the subsidy for farmers.

We will subsidize every hectare planted, every head of livestock, and every seedling planted.

For you as a special sector, we will subsidize your every effort for cultivation, collection, assembly, processing and export.

I guarantee you will be a sector with absolute advantage.

This is 100 percent consistent with our Made in Albania philosophy.

Because we consider this Made in Albania to be Archimedes' lever to increase salaries, to increase pensions, to enrich families, to increase production, to consolidate the economy as a productive economy.

We proclaim manufacturing as the leader of our economy.
