Democrat leader Sali Berisha has conveyed the message of condolences for the death of one of his closest associates, former President Bujar Nishani.

Berisha calls Nishani an icon of the highest human values, highlighting the success he has had during the running of the state.

"Former President Bujar Nishani was an icon of the highest moral values ​​of man, honesty, patriotism and dedication. He was a prominent statesman, who represented the nation and Albania with special dignity and wisdom in the international arena, giving honor and value to the institution of the president, the state and the Albanian citizens.

"Former President Bujar Nishani in these 30 years, as a servant of the citizens and his country, fulfilled with honorable important duties from director of the Ministry of Defense, Minister of Public Order and up to the President of the Republic", writes Berisha.
