Justice Reform, Kalaja: We are worse than in 2016, citizens have been denied

Lawyer Adriana Kalaja, invited to the studio of the show "Power" on Fax News, said that this reform has not only failed to meet expectations, but is very late.

She adds that in many aspects we are worse than in 2016, as today it is almost impossible for citizens to have access to the judicial system. A citizen of Shkodra must travel to Tirana for a case in the Court of Appeal.

On the other hand, the Courts are overloaded and even 1 judge at least in Tirana conducts 10-11 trials per day.

Adriana Kalaja: Not only have we not reached the expectations in the justice reform. It is not early at all. It is always too late for justice. Those who formulated the reform knew those deadlines. We are not even at the initial level of expectations. Justice today is worse than in 2016, in terms of citizens' access to justice. The new map has created many problems for citizens. We should not focus only on what SPAK does. Citizens have been denied full access to the justice system. Cases today The Supreme Court has over 100,000 stock files. The Court of Appeal should have had 73 judges, there are 25 judges. A citizen of Shkodra must come to Tirana for an issue.

Incompetence of the KLJ, which in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice had to find a solution for this. The Tirana court is overloaded due to vetting. 1 judge conducts at least 10-11 trials.
