Salianji: Rama has set the Parliament on fire, we will not become his palaces
Deputy Ervin Salianji addressed the majority in harsh tones, which in 7 minutes approved the 2024 budget on its own without the votes of the opposition.
In a statement to the media outside the Assembly, with the Constitution of Albania in hand, Salianji said that Rama has set fire to the Parliament and is working with the strength of the guards.
The Democrat stated that the SP secretly voted for the budget which hits the middle class and the citizens. Salianji said that the SP rejected the Democrats' amendments, but emphasized that they cannot return to Rama's palace.
"Edi Rama has repeatedly set fire to the Parliament of Albania. They are functioning under the conditions of a junta, where the physical strength of the guards, the leaders of the Police, and the crime in the elections make it possible to keep this edifice that seems clearly not living together democratically, according to the Constitution and the law.
In an insidious and running manner, SP voted for the budget which for the first time hits the middle class, hits the most important for citizens in a democracy, 21% taxation of free professions...
You saw even today that there were amendments by PD MPs and they were rejected... Who wants us to become Edi Rama's palaces, we can't. Anyone who undertakes to become a palazzo for any other reason, which may be financial reasons or of any direct benefit, is worthy of doing it ," Salianji declared.
