The special did not allow Thaçi to attend his father's funeral, Salianji: Ignorance of international law and violation of customary law

The special did not allow Thaçi to attend his father's funeral,

Former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji has reacted from prison after the Special Court rejected the request of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi to attend his father's funeral ceremony.

On social media, Salianji calls the decision brutal, arbitrary and a violation of human rights.
According to him, this is a disregard for international law and a violation of customary law.

"Since the liberation of Kosovo, many attempts have been made to tarnish the glory of the KLA.
All have been in vain.
Every day in freedom has shown that the KLA's war has been just.
Every success of Kosovo, with the move towards integration, with the consolidation of the state, gives credit and glory to the fighters.
The arrest of the KLA leaders is one of the acts that Kosovars recognize as the stamp that will stain their fight for freedom. Just as today's behavior towards Hashim Thaçi, who is denied the right to participate in his father's funeral ceremony, is a brutal arbitrariness and violation of freedom and human rights.
It is as much an ignorance of international law and a violation of the customary code.
No court with any special status can be above human values, above human logic.
This is an injustice to Kosovo, not simply to a founder, a fighter.
Kosovo has a way of "brought this injustice to the country. By marking new achievements in development, in integration, in respect for human rights, in the rule of law.
While Hashim's late father, I am convinced that he will not lack the honors and respect that the Albanian tradition has ," writes Salianji.
