Eight hours in the Assembly, Ilir Beqaj does not testify, the session fails
The testimony of the former minister Ilir Beqaj in the Investigative Commission on concessions in health has failed today. The session, which was closed with a proposal from the vice president of the Commission, Plarent Ndreca, failed to give direction, while he said that "today we are not able to give direction".
Beqaj was brought in handcuffs for questioning, but it appears that this was part of a prepared script.
During the hearing, he declined to give his statement, but asked to speak and explain his position through a PowerPoint presentation, a request that sparked heated debate among Commission members. The majority supported Beqaj's request, while the opposition refused to accept it.
The question session will take place tomorrow at 10:30.
