How can the Socialist Party alone elect a president after the third round

At the meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party convened by Enkelejd Alibeaj, which was attended by 26 deputies in total, 8 names were proposed for the new President.

4 steps to get to a candidate 

At the meeting of the PD parliamentary group, Alibeaj proposed four stages for the selection of the candidate, referring to the draft made public.

The PD group will select 4 candidates, 2 from the PD group and 2 from Fatmir Mediu and Mesila Doda. Meanwhile, after giving the names, a joint PD-PS group will be formed with 6 members and will choose 1 candidate. The candidate is proposed by joint signatures PD-PS.

Re-establishment: Rama's game process to elect the president himself

Enkelejd Alibeaj said today after the meeting that if the majority does not accept any of the proposed names, they will withdraw from the process.  

But the Democratic MP, Oerd Bylykbashi, representative of 'Rithemelimit' , says that the Alibeaj-Balla agreement gives the opportunity to Edi Rama to secure 84 seats for his candidate to sell him as a consensual candidate.

“Marrëveshja i jep mundësi Ramës që të caktojë një opozitë hollesh përkundër opozitës së votës e me votat e tyre të caktojë presidentin e më tej, të ndryshojë sistemin zgjedhor, hartën e ndarjes territoriale, për të mbajtur pushtetin”, thotë ai.

Edhe deputeti demokrat, Ervin Salianji e cilëson procesin një lojë të ‘pisët’ të Ramës duke i lënë opozitës në dorë sipas tij “pataten e nxehtë” të dy raundeve që kërkojnë shumicën e cilësuar në Kuvend për zgjedhjen e kreut të shtetit.

“Përmes angazhimit personal për të qenë në këtë proces, e frangmentarizoi opozitën, krijoi një proçes paralel në opozitë dhe thelloi ndarjen në PD dhe në fund s’do ketë asnjë emër që mbledh 20 firma!”, thotë Salianji.

PS mund ta zgjedhë e vetme presidentin pas raundit të tretë

Në datë 23 pritet të ezaurohet edhe raundi i dytë për zgjedhjen e Presidentit dhe nëse kjo nuk do të ndodhë, Parlamenti do të tentojë sërish në një raund të tretë më datë 30 maj për gjetjen e një konsensusi mes palëve dhe sigurimi i 84 votave siç kërkon Kushtetuta për tre raundet e para.

Dje Enkelejd Alibeaj kërkoi që opozita të kishte të drejtën ekskluzive për të propozuar kandidatë në dy raundet e ardhshme të votimit për presidentin e ri, propozim që u pranua nga kolegu i tij socialist, Taulant Balla, i cili ka thënë se dy raundet e fundit do të ishin të mazhorancës.

Partia Socialiste mund ta zgjedhë e vetme presidentin pas raundit të tretë.

The roundtable was convened after the first round of voting failed without any concrete candidacy. Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that the majority would come out with the name of the candidate only in the fourth round, as in the first 3 rounds he did not have enough votes to elect the president.

The Alibeaj-Balla pact reached in front of the cameras was not welcomed by other opposition groups.

Deputies of the "Re-establishment Commission" of the Democratic Party described Alibeaj without a political mandate from the party and the pact reached as a mockery of the constitutional process and that one fired by the Democrats can not set conditions.

The deadline for submitting candidates expires on Sunday, May 22nd.
