Adrian Zeko, accused of the murder of 12-year-old Zenaida Selimaj, who was burned alive on September 23, 2011, will appear before the Piraeus Court in Greece.

The Albanian took the life of a minor girl of Albanian origin, after initially attempting to rape her.

The 63-year-old is accused of murder in a state of calm, arson, attempted rape and seduction of a minor under 14 years of age.

The girl was found with burns covering 80% of her body on the stairs of the building where she lived with her parents and younger brother. She was taken to the Nice State General Hospital and then to the Agia Sophia Children's Hospital, where she died 13 days later.

Initially, it was suspected that Zenaida had committed suicide due to a handwritten note from the minor found in her home. The investigation took a turn and focused on the girl's immediate family circle, after it was discovered that the minor had been doused with turpentine and then set on fire using a lighter.
