At the end of May, the leaders of Hadassah Hospital arrived in the southern Sharon region. The reason was an activity initiated by businessman Saniel (Sani) Sanilevich at his vineyard located in the area – the Sanilevich Winery.

This is not the first event that Sanilevich has held in recent years at the vineyard, which is located on agricultural land. In February 2025, for example, the annual event to promote tourism between Israel and Albania was held at the Sanilevich Winery.

The reason for the Hadassah event was that Sanilevitch had recently been appointed chairman of the board of directors of Hadassah International Israel — a fundraising arm that works with the Hadassah Women’s Organization, an American-Zionist organization behind Hadassah Medical Center, and with the medical center itself. He replaced businessman Moshe Levy in the position.

But Sanilevich's interest in the healthcare system is not limited to philanthropy. He also has business ambitions in the field.  TheMarker  has learned that Sanilevich is currently collaborating with businesswoman Yardena Ovadia in an effort to set up a hospital in Albania.

This means that while he is collecting donations for Hadassah, he may find himself simultaneously raising investment for a hospital to be built abroad as part of his private business.

Ovadia's staff has experience in this field. Among other things, she has founded two hospitals in Equatorial Guinea. She and Sanilevich realized that Albania, like African countries, is a country whose health system is desperate for investment.

In Israel, Sanilevich owns a small percentage of two bars in Tel Aviv, Lulu Bar and Provocatoria. He is also a partner of one of the biggest business figures in the Israeli economy – Tzachi Nachmias.

Sanilevich Real Estate and Enterprises, controlled by Sanilevich, and Effie Properties, controlled by Nachmias, each own 50% of a large, income-generating real estate project in Neve Neeman Park in Hod Hasharon. This is a project for an office building worth about 600 million shekels, which can also be expanded.

Business in Albania
It was no coincidence that Sanilevich and his employees came to Albania. Sanilevich has been involved in this country for several years and his business connections there are a demonstration of the confusion between capital and power.

Sanilevich, who serves as Albania's honorary consul in Israel, met Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama about five years ago and a connection was formed between them.

Sanilevich's connection to Rama was revealed in an investigation published on the Uvda television program last week, in which it was revealed that Rama complained to Sanilevich about pressure exerted on him by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to appoint Nicole Raidman, a close associate of his wife Sara Netanyahu, as Albania's honorary consul in Israel.

The same investigation also released recordings in which Sanilevich — who was Netanyahu’s media adviser some 17 years ago — says that at the time “we would press charges against anyone who threatened us.” Today, he is far from Netanyahu’s circle, but is in contact with elements in the Likud party.

Currently, Sanilevitch has investments in real estate and tourism in Albania. In addition, he was one of the founders of a digital bank in Albania and is in the process of establishing data centers in the country. In the last two years, he has also invested in the security sector in Albania, in collaboration with Major General Giora Eiland.

Sanilevich and Eiland were also involved in the process in which, in the spring of 2025, airlines Sun Dürr and IsraAir received approval from the governments of Albania and Israel to operate direct flights for tourists between Tel Aviv and Tirana, the capital of Albania, for the first time.

The tourism event in Albania, held at the Sanilevich vineyard in February 2025, celebrated, among other things, the launch of Sun Dürr's direct airline service to the country.

In this case, it appears that Sanilevic is following in the footsteps of Jared Kushner – son-in-law of US President Donald Trump – who is promoting plans to invest $1.4 billion in tourism in Albania.

Apparently, Sanilevic intends to invest in those areas. But these plans should be taken with limited certainty. In conversations with people who have worked with him, it was said several times that Snilevic is “a good guy with a heart of gold,” along with claims that his grand plans do not always translate into real activity.

Sanilevich declined to comment on the article.

Hadassah Hospital responded: “Sanilevitz was elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hadassah Israel. In addition to this position, he maintains an extensive and independent business activity, and we wish him success in any project. Sanilevich held a meeting on his own initiative, to which a limited number of guests from Hadassah Medical Center were invited.”/ Kapitali.al
