Photo/ Hundreds of citizens bid farewell to Enea Mekolli

These are the images of today's escort to the last residence of martyred police officer Enea Mekolli, who lost his life during an operation yesterday in Lozhan i Maliqi, when he was shot dead by the much-wanted Violand Braçellari.

Thousands of citizens, friends, relatives, colleagues and residents gave their final farewell to the officer, shortly after the end of the tributes in Pogradec.

His family had expressed that Enea should rest in his hometown, and this afternoon the martyred policeman was escorted to his final residence amidst pain and tears.

The long line of participants accompanied the hearse until the final respects.

Also present were the Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari, Police Chief Skënder Hita and leaders of the Korça Police.

In honor, the family members were also given the Albanian flag, the hat, and the "Martyr of the Homeland" certificate.

During the action in Lozhan, another officer, Edison Adri, was also injured. He is being treated in hospital and is out of danger.

Also injured was drug convict Braçellari, who is also in the hospital.
