"You are inventing Greek license plates and buses", Zhupa and Balla

The debate on the protests against the project in Zvërnec moved this Thursday to the Parliament hall, where Democratic MP Ina Zhupa and the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, exchanged accusations between them.

Zhupa accused the SP of disinformation and attempts to present the civic protest as being instigated by foreign circles, while Balla responded by calling the DP MP a liar and warning of a showdown in court.

During her speech, Zhupa stated that the government is using propaganda to divert attention from the real concerns of citizens regarding the planned project in Zvërnec.

""I see a post on Facebook by Taulant Balla, who made a poster in Greek himself and put it out there as if it were the protest poster. You yourself have produced fake things from the beginning, distorting, to paint with nationalist colors a battle that is only Albanian and just. Nationalism is the last refuge of the shameless. But in this case you are disinformation. You brought 2 deputies to the studio who invented Greek buses with license plates.... Albanians raised for dignity, you must understand that Albania belongs to them. A serious investment does not come with barbed wire, with bandits in uniform and with citizens being dragged along", declared Zhupa, referring to the incidents that occurred during the recent protests.

On the other hand, Taulant Balla reacted harshly to the accusations of the Democratic MP, denying that he had produced or manipulated materials to discredit the protest. He said that the photo he published was taken from a Greek website and accused Zhupa of defamation.

"You are a liar who doesn't blush when she lies. I am ready to face you in court," declared Balla, while also mocking the Democratic Party's involvement in the protest, saying that the protesters do not need the support of the DP.
