 Tributes paid to police officer Enea Mekolli, who lost his life yesterday during a police operation, have been accompanied by moments of tension. Amid the pain of the 36-year-old's loss, his family members have openly expressed their anger at state institutions, demanding responsibility for the tragic event.

During President Bajram Begaj's visit to express condolences to the family, the uncle of the deceased officer stopped the head of state and addressed him in harsh tones, raising concerns about the increase in crime and the lack of security.

He stated that the suspected perpetrator had been wanted for years and that the state had failed to bring him to justice.

"He left this country in the hands of criminals. He closed the door on us, don't leave the criminals behind. There have been three attempts to arrest him, you must take action, you are killing us, get over yourself, he left this country in the hands of criminals, criminals are ruling every corner of Albania. The police do not dominate, but crime dominates. We are sinking. You brought us to the bottom. There were no protective measures, " said the uncle, while Begaj did not react, but hugged him.
