"We will not compete with protests", Berisha: DP National Council calls next week

"We will not compete with protests", Berisha: DP National Council

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has stated that the opposition has not organized a national protest in order not to compete with the civic protest that has been taking place for days, emphasizing that its support remains the priority.

During a conversation with citizens on social media, Berisha stated that the Democrats have participated individually in the rallies, while the DP has chosen to contribute to the success of the protest without politicizing it.

He also announced that the National Council of the Democratic Party will meet next week and the new party leadership will be elected, concluding the internal organizational processes.

Berisha : Very fair question. The truth is that we had in mind to call a national protest, but we did not do it solely because of the daily protest of citizens.

We have given them, in their respect we have given them priority, meanwhile the Democrats, all those who wanted to protest have gone and protested. This is the position.
So, we have not even made an effort, we have respected and called others, and they have their merit, I have called it unreasonable for us to compete with a protest, but on the contrary, everything should be done for its success in civic participation, as citizens.
So I cannot say that we follow these developments with much commitment, we see that the crisis is deepening unstoppably.
We see Edi Rama's positions becoming more and more irresponsible every day. But we, as I said, are ready at any moment, at any time, to continue fulfilling our mission.
Regarding the meeting, this week the National Council is meeting, this week the Presidency of the Democratic Party is being elected, this week everything is being fulfilled.
There is still a little time left for any complaints to be filed, and I hope that anyone who has the slightest doubt about the vote count is invited by me to come and have their votes recounted vote by vote.
