The Director of the Albanian Anti-Corruption Agency, Gentian Gjyli, is summoned

The Director of the Albanian Anti-Corruption Agency, Gentian Gjyli, has appeared before the Special Prosecutor's Office.

Although there is no official information on the reasons for his appearance, it is thought that Gjyli will testify on the procedures followed in road tenders.

We recall that Gjyli was appointed director of the ARA in March last year, replacing Evis Berberi in this position. The latter has been arrested for a year by court order, following the request of the Special Prosecution Office on charges of corruption and money laundering.

The investigation has shown that Berberi is involved in 6 tenders that SPAK claims were awarded abusively, 3 when he was Director of Energy Efficiency and 3 as Director of ARRSH. The total value of the tenders is around 2.2 million euros. In addition to Berberi, Valter Begaj and Ervis Lami, administrators of the company DAAM, have also been arrested, who are suspected of having benefited from the tenders abusively.
