The head of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Altin Dumani, has stated that he is not aware that former chief prosecutor Adriatik Llalla has obtained asylum status in Italy.
Dumani told reporters that Llalla has benefited from the Court of Appeal in Rome to obtain a passport in order to move within Italian territory.
Duman was optimistic about the extradition of Llalla.
"Adriatik Llalla has benefited from the Court of Appeal in Rome to receive a passport in order to move within Italian territory. The process continues in Italy for the extradition of the former chief prosecutor of Albania Adriatik Llalla.
I have not been informed by my counterparts about Adriatik Llalla receiving asylum status. Llalla continues to stay in Italy and the extradition process continues. I have complete confidence that the extradition of Llalla will be approved and the former chief prosecutor will be transferred to Albania to serve the sentence received by Albanian justice" , said Dumani.
