Former Minister of Defense Fatmir Mediu appeared this Thursday in the Special Court, where the process related to the investigation on Gërdec took place.

After the end of the session, Mediu told the media that he appeared in court today out of respect for her and because the witnesses who confessed today were his former colleagues when he served as Minister of the Interior.

So he reiterated that there is no criminal responsibility related to the case and stated again that he cannot undo what happened, but he called for a legal and equal process for the parties.

" I came today because there were witnesses who worked with me and followed my orders. The previous witnesses were not related to the work of the Minister of the Interior. I came today out of respect for the court and expressing my apologies to the family for what happened to them. I can no longer undo what happened and I apologize. This process must be legal and equal for the parties", stated Mediu, among others.
