Entering to bathe, one person dies in Lake Ohrid

One person died after entering to bathe in Lake Ohrid.

According to the preliminary announcement by the police, JS, 44 years old, from North Macedonia died the moment he entered the lake to bathe.

According to the police, it is suspected that he may have died as a result of cardiac arrest.

Pogradec/Preliminary information

On 29.06.2023, at around 18:00, in the village of Udënisht, Pogradec, on Lake Ohrid, citizen JS, 44 years old, from Skopje, North Macedonia, at the moment he entered the lake to bathe, changed life.

From the preliminary examination of the victim's body, no signs of violence were found and it is suspected that this citizen may have died as a result of cardiac arrest.

The investigative team is working to fully clarify the circumstances and determine the cause of the loss of life.
