Abuse of tenders at the Agricultural University, SPAK seeks 34.6 years in prison

The Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime has requested over 34 years in prison for the defendants in the case related to the Agricultural University of Tirana, who were tried in a summary procedure.

Thus, the prosecutor in the case, Dritan Prençi, requested the following sentences:

Edmond Terthorja – 3 years in prison, with a 1/3 reduction in sentence; deprivation of the right to exercise public functions for 5 years.

Amarildo Lleshi – 3 years in prison, reduced by 1/3; disqualification from holding public office for 5 years.

Serafin Skenderi – 3 years in prison, reduced by 1/3; disqualification from holding public office for 5 years.

Altin Murto – 3 years in prison, reduced by 1/3; disqualification from holding public office for 5 years.

For some of the other defendants, the prosecution requested prison sentences, but with suspension of execution and conversion to probation:

Klara Jahollari – 1 year in prison, suspended sentence; 150 hours of probation and obligation to maintain contact with the probation service.

Agim Sefa – 1.6 years in prison, suspension of execution; conversion to probation for 2 years.

Mehmet Qoshja – 1.6 years in prison, suspension of execution; probation for 2 years.

Enkeleida Sallaku – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and converted to 150 hours of probation.

Romina Koto – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and 150 hours of probation.

Artur Koleci – 1.6 years in prison, reduced by 1/3; converted to 2 years of probation.

Blenard Spaho – 1.6 years in prison, reduced by 1/3; probation for 2 years.

Tedi Proda – 1.6 years in prison, reduced by 1/3; 2 years probation.

Elvira Shtogu – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; 150 hours of probation.

Tone Vukaj – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and 150 hours of probation.

Eridiana Cuni – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and 150 hours of probation.

Erjola Kopali – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and 150 hours of probation.

Etleva Shore – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and 150 hours of probation.

Ilir Kapaj – 1.6 years in prison, reduced by 1/3; 24 months probation.

Radio Dhromi – 1.6 years in prison, reduced by 1/3; 24 months probation.

Klea Lekoçaj – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and 150 hours of probation.

Mimoza Sefa – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and 150 hours of probation.

Mimoza Shehu – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and 150 hours of probation.

Rezearta Dervishi – 1 year in prison, reduced by 1/3; suspended and 150 hours of probation.

Meanwhile, Piro Zoga, Ilir Kusi, Bejo Bizhga, Dritan Laçi and Arjan Buliaj are being tried in ordinary proceedings, separate from the rest of the case.

According to the indictment, it concerns nine tender procedures fictitiously conducted during 2022, with a total value of around 90 million new lek.

The defendants, including senior university officials, businessmen and other involved individuals, are accused of corruption, violation of equality in tenders and abuse of office.
