A serious incident occurred this afternoon in Lezha, where 29-year-old Egzon Gegaj was injured by gunfire. According to the latest information, Gegaj was shot by a 23-year-old with the initials LN, who is currently on the run.

It is reported that the cause of the incident was a conflict between the parties, which escalated and led to the use of weapons.

Gegaj was shot three times in the chest and, after receiving first aid at the Lezha hospital, his health condition deteriorated, forcing his urgent transfer to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.

Police have surrounded the area and set up checkpoints to locate and apprehend the suspected perpetrator, LN. The investigative team is working intensively to clarify the circumstances of the incident and to secure other evidence that could lead to his identification and arrest.

At the entrance to the city of Lezha, in the Nënë Tereza neighborhood, during a conflict for weak motives, it is suspected that citizen LN, about 23 years old, wounded citizen EG, about 30 years old, with a pistol, who was transported to the hospital for medical assistance and is out of danger.

Police services continue checks to capture and escort the suspected perpetrator.

The investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office continues its work to clarify the circumstances and complete legal documentation of the case.
