CEC approves ballot for May 11 elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) today approved the ballot for the May 11 elections, accepting the proposal of Marash Logu, representative of the Democratic Party, for changes regarding the manner of presenting candidates with two surnames.

Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi announced that the decision includes not only approving the content of the ballot, but also the ranking of candidates and the way their names will appear. He emphasized that Logu's proposal will be reflected on all ballots for the 12 districts, making the necessary corrections for uniformity in the writing of names.

According to Celibashi, an important benefit is the fact that for the first time, the ballot is out almost a month before the official start of the campaign, a change that gives political parties and candidates more time to prepare.

The publication of the ballot for all districts is expected to take place soon, including the approved changes for candidates with two surnames.
