Lleshaj: Justice affairs are not resolved with the assumption 'the more

Former Minister of Interior Sander Lleshaj spoke about the recent operation "Golden Bullet" which led to the 'dismantling' of 8 criminal groups.

Invited to the studio of "Sot" in Euronews Albania, Lleshaj said that the objective of the operation was not achieved, while casting doubts that the cause may be the problems that Justice has today.

According to Lleshaj, in Albania the concept has been created that the more 'expensive' a prosecutor is, the more loyal he is to the law. The former minister underlined that the selection criteria should not be seen only from the material point of view.

"We believe that we will solve things through mechanical approaches, appointing prosecutors and giving them high salaries and assuming that we are buying them expensive, they will be loyal to the law.

We pay prosecutors more than the president. The president receives as much as half of a SPAK prosecutor or a judicial police officer is better paid than his minister. We have created an illusion, but this is not how jobs are solved ", said Lleshaj.
