Fight for the municipality, Bushati: Strong suspicions that Rama is the one who pressured for Veliaj's imprisonment

Fight for the municipality, Bushati: Strong suspicions that Rama is the one who

Analyst Andi Bushati commented on the Rama-Veliaj 'war' for control of the Municipality. Invited to MCN, Bushati said that the personal relationship between Rama and Veliaj is at its lowest point.

According to him, Rama is reinforcing the idea as the main contributor to Veliaj's imprisonment, with recent actions in the Municipality.

" There are several aspects that can be seen. First, the state of the Rama-Veliaj relationship, it seems, has degraded to a level that had not been seen in public until now. But this is to some extent a personal relationship. Here, the relationship between the institutions is more interesting. With what title does the prime minister go and gather the municipality employees and give them direct orders, cancel orders? Rama is not elected by the citizens of Tirana, he does not own the Municipality.

He neither appoints nor removes people there. Seeing this, the way Rama is behaving, as commander of the Municipality, I think that the suspicion is increasingly strengthened that Rama is the one who has pushed for Veliaj's imprisonment. We have had many debates here too, is Veliaj's imprisonment a product of independent justice, or political lobbying? The way Rama is behaving, shows that Rama wanted this. Veliaj remains a prisoner, like Lefter Koka or like Arben Ahmetaj on the run, so a political prisoner who is there by the will of Rama, who does not let him do even the duties that belong to the municipality", said Bushati.
