Archbishop Joan's message on the eve of Easter: The Resurrection of Christ strengthens us and gives us all faith

The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, Joan, has shared his message on the eve of Easter.

While he expressed that this Easter we do not have our beloved Archbishop Anastasios among us, he emphasized that the resurrection of Christ strengthens us and gives us all faith.

VICTORY OVER DEATH

To the clergy and the hopeful people,
dear children in God,

The

Easter is the commemoration of the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fundamental truth of our faith and life. If there had been no Resurrection, if death had not been conquered, then our Christian preaching and faith would have been in vain (I Cor. 15:14), emphasizes the great apostle, because only through the Resurrection of the Lord, our human nature received its true significance and meaning. His victory over death is a universal victory, for all times and for all peoples, a victory in which every person can rejoice. Every other victory in the world has created division and continues to divide people from each other. When one wins, another loses. One rejoices and the other grieves. While in the victory of the Resurrection of Christ, everyone should rejoice, because death, the common enemy of all people, is defeated.

This Easter we do not have our beloved Archbishop Anastasius among us. But our hearts are comforted knowing that he now intercedes for us before God, for God is not the God of the dead, but of the living (Mt. 22:32). We believe that death is not the end, but the beginning of a new life in God. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most miserable (1 Cor. 15:19).

The resurrection of Christ strengthens us and gives us all faith, gives us life from His Life, a holy life, a life that conquers even death itself, a life without end, where the earthly power of death no longer has power. We have faith, and our faith is not just an emotion, or just a wish, but it is a certainty founded on the rock, which is Christ. His Spirit and Word sowed the seed of life where death reigned, spread light where there was darkness, and gave joy wherever there was fear and sadness. He passed through the human cemetery, spreading the flowers of eternity.

Por, ne jemi të vetëdijshëm për vështirësitë e kësaj jete. Në botë ka padrejtësi dhe luftëra, varfëri dhe mundim, sëmundje dhe vdekje, që shpesh mund ta çojnë njeriun në dëshpërim. Egoizmi dhe lakmia i kanë helmuar dhe deformuar marrëdhëniet ndërmjet njerëzve, duke i tjetërsuar dhe duke i vetmuar nga njëri-tjetri. Largimi nga vlerat, nga dashuria, drejtësia, dhembshuria dhe, sidomos, nga prania Zotit në jetën tonë të përditshme, krijon një errësirë shpirtërore, duke e mjegulluar mendjen njerëzore dhe duke e çoroditur kuptimin e jetës. Errësira shpirtërore është pengesa më e madhe për të hyrë në jetën dhe çlirimin e vërtetë.

Por, sa më e madhe të jetë errësira, aq më shumë duhet drita. Në këtë ditë të shenjtë, të gjithë jemi të ftuar të marrim pjesë në këtë gëzim, sepse vetëm duke e përjetuar në jetën tonë dritën çliruese të Ngjalljes, qenia jonë mund të transformohet dhe të arrijë dimensionin e saj të plotë. Ne kemi sigurinë se dashuria e Tij është më e fortë se urrejtja, jeta në Të, më e fortë se vdekja dhe se shpresa jonë në Krishtin është më e fortë se dëshpërimi. Ai është shpresa jonë dhe ata që shpresojnë te Zoti, – thotë Profeti Isaia, – do të ripërtërijnë forcën e tyre. Ata do të fluturojnë mbi krahë si shqiponja; do të vrapojnë dhe nuk do të lodhen, do të ecin dhe nuk do të ligështohen (Is.40:31).

Nëse do të ndizet drita e ngjalljes në jetën tonë, atëherë edhe marrëdhëniet ndërnjerëzore do të ndriçohen. Ne jemi krijuar si qenie komunitare dhe jemi thirrur të jetojmë në bashkësi me njëri-tjetrin dhe ta ndihmojmë njëri-tjetrin, duke ruajtur dinjitetin e çdo personi njerëzor, sidomos të njerëzve në nevojë dhe në vështirësi. Sakrificat, ashtu si mjekimi, nuk janë të lehta, por janë të domosdoshme për shërimin tonë. Sepse, nëse nuk do të përjetojmë dhimbjen e kryqit, nuk do ta përjetojmë as gëzimin, jetën dhe dritën e Ngjalljes.

Të dashur vëllezër dhe motra! Gjatë Pashkëve ne këndojmë: Vraponi dhe i shpallni botës se si u ngjall Zoti, duke shkatërruar vdekjen; Ai është Biri i Perëndisë, Shpëtimtari i racës njerëzore! Ndoshta sot, më shumë se kurrë, bota jonë ka nevojë për mesazhin e Pashkës, sepse Ngjallja nuk është thjesht një ngjarje e kaluar, por një përvojë e vazhdueshme për çdo kohë, për çdo brez dhe për çdo njeri, e cila jep shpresë, dritë dhe gëzim në jetën tonë dhe nuk na lejon të mbytemi në detin e hidhërimit. Pavarësisht se sa të vështira mund të jenë problemet tona, Ngjallja e Krishtit, na premton një të ardhme krejtësisht të ndryshme.

The Resurrection of Christ is not an event and a celebration that concerns Him alone, but also us, because He made us partakers of His Resurrection, through the fullness of His human nature. His Resurrection touches and transforms all people, giving human existence a new life and becoming the indicator of the final fulfillment of our human nature. He who is risen today, - writes St. Gregory the Theologian, - will renew me in spirit and clothe me with the new man. For Easter we are called to embrace one another and, because of the life-giving Resurrection of Christ, to forgive one another in everything, so that we may cry out with a pure heart: Christ is Risen!
