Bad weather, navigation of small craft and fishing boats in Vlora suspended for

The worsening hydrometeorological conditions have forced the Vlora Port Authority to take restrictive measures for maritime navigation. For a period of five days, the circulation of small vessels and fishing vessels will be prohibited, both within the Gulf of Vlora and in the open sea.

According to the official announcement, the ban begins at 06:00 on January 2 and will last until 06:00 on January 7, 2026. Meteorological forecasts speak of difficult sea conditions, with winds in the south-southwest direction reaching force 5 to 6 Beaufort, speeds of 10 to 15 meters per second, as well as waves expected to reach up to 1.5 meters.

The Port Authority has suspended the issuance of departure permits to all small vessels and fishing boats, while their managers are advised to take measures to secure their vessels and increase the readiness of their crews.

The authorities also call on all institutions and entities operating in the maritime sector to cooperate in preventing dangerous situations and ensuring port security.
