Known as the 'boss' of cryptocurrency, who is Faruk Fatih Özer,

Faruk Fatih Özer, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange platform Thodex, was arrested today in Elbasan. Wanted for cryptocurrency fraud, the Turk lived in the "5 Maji" neighborhood.

At the time of the arrest, Özer was resting on one of the beaches in the South, while it is reported that another person with the initials EH was arrested along with the Turk. The latter is suspected of having sheltered Özer in different apartments in Elbasan with in order to avoid arrest by the blue uniforms, as well as for his escape from the country.

Faruk Fatih Özer was the founder of the Turkish cryptocurrency platform "Thodex", which declared bankruptcy a month ago, financially damaging more than 350 thousand investors, mainly in Turkey. 

Founded in 2017, Özer's company allowed users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies, counting a total of 400,000 accounts and 391,000 active investors, with a transaction volume of approximately $12 billion.

The investigation against the cryptocurrency 'boss' was initiated on April 22 after the Chief Public Prosecutor of Anatolia announced that users could not access their accounts on the platform called "Thodex". Özer was declared wanted by the Turkish authorities as a fraud suspect in the Turkish state, which is worth about 2 billion dollars, while it was reported that he had a hard drive worth 108 million dollars with him.
