New details have emerged regarding the murder of a 22-year-old Albanian woman in Italy, who was killed by her ex-partner Mark Samson.

Media in Italy have revealed messages that the author sent from Ilaria's phone to her friend, Maria Sofia Lombardo, who has become a key witness.

"I ran away with another guy, I met him on the street," is one of the messages that the perpetrator, posing as Ilaria, sent to the victim's friend.

Through communications with Ilaria's friend, Mark attempted to invent a mysterious killer in his place. In messages to Ilaria's friend, pretending to be Ilaria, he wrote: "I'm with someone else and I can't say where I am."

"I'm going to the house of a guy I met on the street, but I can't tell you where," was one of the messages the perpetrator sent to Ilaria's friend from the victim's phone on March 28.

"We saw each other this morning outside La Sapienza and he asked me if I wanted to go out with him today," the author pretending to be Ilaria later wrote.
