An Albanian citizen is arrested with over 27 kg of drugs and 37 thousand euros

The Guardia di Finanza in Florence has handcuffed a 33-year-old Albanian citizen, after a significant amount of narcotics and cash was found in his vehicle.

The arrest was made after a detailed check of his vehicle, which had caught the eye for suspicious movements. During the inspection, authorities discovered over 15 kilograms of cocaine divided into 20 blocks and 12 kilograms of marijuana. In addition to the drugs, 37 thousand euros in cash were also seized.

According to the Italian authorities, the value of the drugs, if thrown on the market, would reach the amount of about 600 thousand euros. Also, specialized equipment for packaging and distributing drugs was found in the vehicle, including a vacuum packaging machine, precision scales, cutters and other packaging materials.

Investigations are ongoing to find out if this case is linked to a wider drug trafficking network, both inside and outside Italian territory.
